Malaysia – ChildSafe
Child abuse is a major problem in Asia with 1 in 10 children being sexually abused and 1 in 4 children being physically abused. The statistics are staggering with the numbers growing daily. With this in mind, our ChildSafe II Initiative has developed a curriculum that addresses the problem of sexual abuse and provides a strategy to help prevent it. Learning from our experience, we have updated and enhanced our program to equip child care takers with simple safety lessons and to enhance the learning experience for the children. Our goal is to focus on collaboration with schools, teachers, parents, and the community and to train them to empower children so that they are protected. In addition, our team is focused and committed on creating and providing child friendly and engaging resources and content to schools and communities in Malaysia. Since 2019, we have trained and produced resources that are provided to more than 549 teachers and through them, empowered 15334 children and counting.
